Steering wheel locked up while driving, causing a collision in the highway
The rear shocks have failed multiple times on my vehicle. The original shocks failed under 50k miles. I had them replaced on february 14 with oem shocks at the dealership. The replacement rear driver side shock began leaking last week, approximately 6. 5 months after install. It is currently available for inspection upon request. Without properly working shocks, the car is more difficult to control over rough roads, and creates a safety hazard for myself and others. The original shock issue that was corrected in february was reproduced by the dealer and an independent service center. The new problem is self diagnosed, but is very evident when looking at part and surrounding area (fluid leaking from the shock and dirtying the surrounding parts). The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or other parties. There were no symptoms of the problem prior to failure.
Approaching red light and the vehicle came to a sudden stop. Message popped up on dashboard to place into park and start vehicle. Vehicle would not start and could not shift into neutral to move off of road. Message then appeared to plug car in to calibrate battery. Had car towed to my house, plugged car into charging station and message popped up to service charging system. Car will not start.
Error warning "front right side marker defective" is displayed. Other 2017 q7s are included on the recall list for this issue (recall #16v642000) but our vin number is not included.
I have a 2021 Elite and have been experiencing issues with the Auto Engine Idle Shut Off for the past year. The engine with shuts off normally when I come to a stop when I have the system engaged. The problems begin when I take my foot off the brake expecting the engine to start up again. What happens inconsistently (though more and more often) is that when I take my foot off the brake, the engine shuts off, shifts itself into Park, and I have trouble getting the engine to start up again. A number of warning messages show up on the center console as well. Things like, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation, Brake System warnings start displaying. Sometimes, I can get the engine to start up again within 10-15 seconds. Sometimes, it's been more than a minute. It almost sounds like the battery is dead but I have zero issues ever starting the vehicle initially in both hot and cold weather. When I disengage the system, which I do practically every time I drive the car now, everything works fine. The dealer ran a diagnostic and found nothing and then charged my battery even though it read full charge. It did the exact same thing a day later at a stop light. Because it’s a safety hazard and rather embarrassing to have it keep occurring at red lights with people behind you, when it shuts the engine off I manually disengage the shut off via the button on the console and the vehicle starts up fine every time. The stalls only occur when I don’t disengage with the button and take my foot off the brake. I have spoken to several other Pilot owners that this has happened to so I know it is not an isolated incident.
My engine in 2023 was burning oil excessively, which caused my cat to become clogged. I was unable to drive the vehicle and had to have both replaced by hyundai. I paid partial for the cat. A year later now in 2024, this “new” engine is doing the same and my new cat is clogged again. I had to add oil continuously. Now they are refusing to fix anything
I was driving a busy 4 lane street when the brake warning light came on. Car slowed down and i managed to turn off onto a side street. When i pushed the throttle there was no reaction. The car would not move. I shut it off and restarted then it would go. The brake system warning light was on. Said: brake system brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer. I drove straight to dealer, and they checked the car and cleared the codes. Could not find anything wrong. I was lucky to be able to get off busy street without incident.
Not in a crash, but the leather on the dashboard is peeling off and airbags may not deploy properly because of it. I think this is a safety concern if not addressed early. Leather on dashboard is peeling off due to poor manufacturing.
Purchased the '17 chevy volt for my daughter on [xxx] with 58,867 miles. On [xxx], 60,600 miles; she was driving on the interstate when the engine temperature spiked, followed by a check engine light and a warning message: "engine unavailable. " the vehicle suddenly lost power when she reduced pressure on the accelerator, causing a rapid reduction in speed. Nearly causing her to lose control. The vehicle's obd codes were scanned at a nearby auto parts store resulting in 30 dtc appearing. I found hundreds of complaints and posts about the f3ua fuse blown and a faulty egr valve. A service bulletin for this issue was published by gm in feb 2023. I notified the dealership of the issues and the vehicle was brought to deacon jones chevy of clinton, nc on july 16th. The service department informed me that the 12v battery was bad and needed replacement to "correct" the issue, at a cost nearly $550. I asked if the fuse mentioned was blown and was informed that it was not. The check engine light was cleared and my daughter drove home. Before getting home, the check engine light came back on, the temperature spiked, and "propulsion power is reduced. " message appeared. This was accompanied again by a rapid reduction in speed nearly causing a collision. I called the dealership back and informed them of the incident. They requested to have the vehicle brought back to the shop, however, towing was out of the question because the dealership is 70 miles from me & i did not want to drive the car in its condition. I took the vehicle to team chevy in swansboro, nc, who ran proper diagnostics. I was informed the f3ua fuse was blown, caused by a short in the egr valve. The original dealer offered to split the cost, but team chevy said they could get the part & match price. When ordered, it showed the egr valve was backorder with no eta. 6 weeks in and no safe transportation for my daughter and grandson. The headlights will flicker for a split second every 1-5 minutes, affecting both headlamps. While this issue does not make the car unusable, it is not expected of a brand new vehicle and could be interpreted by other drivers as aggressive signaling that leads to potential road rage escalations.
