I was driving down the interstate and came up on a wreck. When traffic started to move again my transmission wouldnt engage. The active cruise had quit working about 10 minutes prior.
When i turned on the ignition to drive the vehicle, multiple warning lights came on to include failure of lane keeping assistance, forward collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking. Additionally, after acknowledging these lights, the "brake system" light remained on in the amber color. If these safety features are not working properly, it can put the occupants of my vehicle as well as others at risk. We took the vehicle to the honda dealer. They ran the diagnostics and stated that the fault was "internal electronic failure of multipurpose camera unit/internal failure of multipurpose camera". We had to replace the multipurpose camera and have the new one re-calibrated.
Mfgr unable to remedy nhsta 24v215 risk of fire is unacceptable to leave unaddressed for this long
Rear tailgate would randomly fall down without any key fob buttons being hit. Did some google searches and it sounds like it is very common. There is a faulty tailgate switch that will randomly drop the tailgate which could cause damage if you have a bike rack on or things could fall out of the truck bed while driving if it isn't noticed that the tail gate has dropped
Front upper grill trim piece flew off truck causing a safety hazard for myself and others behind me. Flimsy tabs had broken and wind ripped the trim off.
The digital dashboard lights automatically dim instead of brighten at night so i'm unable to see the speedometer and other instrumentation on the dashboard. I had my vehicle serviced during a recall for this and it fixed it but the problem has reoccurred. This is extremely dangerous because i cannot see the dashboard at night.
On four occasions now, the car slammed on the brakes as if the collision detection system was going off. Someone did almost hit me from behind as they needed to slam on their brakes due to my cars collision system going off when not supposed to. This has been well documented with cadillac and the leased vehicle has been back in the shop 4 months out of the year we owned it. It is a major safety issue and am very concerned it will happen at a time that may cause a bad accident, injury or loss of life if something is not done. Cadillac has replaced many electrical parts and tells us it is fixed when in fact it is not and it happened again this week and will be going back to the shop for the 5th time next week.
Recall in 2022 on rear bolts breaking was done bolts was replace. How ever new bolts are breakng as well, and dealership has put out report but only if rear bolts brake at this time u wreck the car , note two cars has crash do this when i ask they said the not replace them unless they break this incluedes bolts in upper and lower control arms, and related compontents, now why would say replace the bolts but wait untill they break makes no sence to me as total loss control can happen bolts should be replace with stanless steel , mettle wont rust or seze up , my resuch pulled up 5 car crashs all was hurt no one died so what must happen dose people neeed die ,? This must be taken care of asap cars are not safe , and this leads me to bigger probem front end uses same bolts yeat we have no idea how many bolts was replaced and never documented,
Drove from north carolina to wisconsin [xxx] for a vacation, second day, [xxx], in wisconsin went to start up my truck and had a "service power steering" light appear on my dash. Steering wheel was extremely stiff to turn left and right. I tried disconnecting the positive terminal on the battery with no success. I called 3 different dodge dealers in wisconsin to see if they had any information on the issue. I was then notified of a possible electric power steering (eps) failure. Being 1,800 miles from home, this was not very exciting to hear. I was able to disconnect both terminals of the battery and get my power steering back in order to white-knuckle drive back home with the hopes of not losing my power steering while driving through the mountains. I will be calling my local dealer tomorrow, october 16, 2024 to inquire about possible steps to resolve this issue going forward. The coolant bypass valve failed in my car causing “engine maintenance required” message but no cel code. Took it to the dealership where they determined failed component and replaced it. The car only had about 71,000 miles and with a engine cooling system failure it could potentially cause further damage.
