The left rear arm snapped completely and is now dangling along with the spring link and other parts connected to it. The car is not drivable and i have to have a on-site mechanic come out to fix it. I had been driving the car on the highway the day it happened and luckily made it back to my house, then about 20 minutes later i had to go back out but when i put the car into reverse and started backing down the driveway a loud snap followed by scraping metal occurred. Now the car is stationary on the curb. The right rear arm's condition is also bad, showing signs of snapping in the near future as well. My mechanic along with research i've conducted has informed me that this is an extremely common problem with nissan sedans that happen frequently. I had insurance on this exact part of the car but it unfortunately expired may of this year. I filed a claim with nissan directly and they proved to serve no help. If the rear arm had snapped just a little bit earlier in the day when i was on the highway it would have most likely resulted in major accident that would have left me injured.
The indicator light on the dashboard has been lit for several years and remains lit showing that the steering wheel air bag (a safety issue) is non-functioning. This is an electronic issue, and not the result of misuse. This has been reported several times already and nothing has been done. I am not prepared to pay $5000 to have this analyzed abd repaired when it clearly is a safety issue. Please respond.
Steering becomes tight and “feels to lock up” with no control. Happened 2 times previously, 3rd time resulted in a crash.
when driving on a highway the rear upper suspension control arm broke, left side causing the tire to wobble. The car was undrivable. A tow truck was called. The repair shop had to replace both the right and left control arms. They told me that this is a common problem with Nissan Altima 2014. Why has not nissan had a recall on this issue?
The steering wheel locked up and it caused the car to hit a concrete barrier.
I purchased my 2015 Nissan Altima in July, 2022 with 56,530 miles on it. At this date it has approximately 71,500 miles on it. I have driven it 14,970 miles in 2.5 years. On [XXX] I was driving home from Thanksgiving in East Brunswick, NJ to my home in South Philadelphia on [XXX] in New Jersey when my car suddenly began to have a slow down in ability to accelerate. I ended up pulling over after a moment of slowing down and not knowing what was happening. When I got to the break down lane, the car stalled. I ended up getting road side assistance to tow me to Ward's Automotive in Mt. Laurel, NJ, where my family and I have brought cars for many years (we used to live in Moorestown, NJ. Ward's ended up telling me the following Monday that my engine was "bad." I have no idea how my engine died after only 71,500 miles on this car! I got oil changes on it every 5,000 miles. I did report to the dealership in December, 2022 that I was hearing weird noises coming from the right front side but they told me they heard nothing. What can I do??? I am still paying for this vehicle (approx. $3,100 left on loan). I did not purchase an extended warranty when I bought it used. I have learned my lesson, but I need help understanding what rights I have. I don't know if there is any Manufacturer's Warranty on the car. Please help me! When it rains i cannot see using the backup camera at all. Car also gives false alerts when backing up when raining or after rain.
