Brake booster
Twice while at a stop light with my foot on the brakes because of an incline, the engine sped up like it was grasping for air and the engine shut down. It started back each time, but the second time, my engine light came on. I called aaa since i am a member and went there for the repair. They diagnosed it as a brake booster problem and printed a copy of the ford document sent to all us ford and lincoln dealers regarding customer satisfaction program 13n02, supplements 2 & 3. Aaa suggested i take it to a ford/lincoln dealer and have the repair made under the recall. However, when i contacted ford/lincoln, they declined to even look at my car and said the recall was vin specific and my car was not listed. Interestingly at the dealer and when i called and talked to several people at ford and then lincoln, they all asked my mileage. My mileage is 134,000, and 13n02 says it is effective up to 150,000 miles. The ford document does not mention being vin specific and my car is listed, a 2011 mkx with less than 150,000 miles. Your site says there are no open recalls for my car as well. Thanks [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6)
Vehicle randomly dies while driving. Can happen at anytime and at any speed. No warning at all. Does not leave a check engine light so no code is recorded. Very dangerous. Otherwise vehicle runs well but is too dangerous to drive. All steering, acceleration, brakes, etc. Are lost when it dies. Will immediately start back up if in park or neutral and foot on the brake. Again - dangerous! This has been going on for over 6 months now. Some days all ok and other days can be multiple events.
Moonroof glass component off track described by third party lincoln/ford mechanic, and will not go back on track when using buttons to open and close.
The abs module has failed. Lincoln doesn't have one and they don't know when the will. Apparently (from what i gather from lincoln corporate) there is a plethora of these units that have failed. Why is this not a safety recall?

The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle five times before the vehicle started operating as intended. The vehicle was then driven to the residence. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer nor independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 192,000.

I am satisfied with the help that the customer service assisted me with and that was getting my service moved up to september 26th from the original date of october 30th. But i am not satisfied with the remedy. I have received several written letters from lincoln that go into detail of the recall on my car and as well they say and in big red letters.. Do not drive your car until repairs are done. Well, i should say that you see my 2010 lincoln mkx is my and only vehicle i own i can not just park it up and forget i have a life and a job because of no fault of my own that my one and only car urgently is needing repair to the factory installed air bags. Therefore i ask lincoln to assist me with a rental until my car had been repaired. I do not feel safe driving my car. Letter's i have on hand from lincoln plainly stating do not drive. I am upset lincoln ortrays they care so much to bombard me with all the recall letters and such but pretty much told me no we dont do rental cars so what i am to do??? I don't have rental coverage on my insurance. I couldn't afford it. So what choice do i have??? If i do die from their faulty air bags imploding on me atleast make sure my children and grandchildren knew i begged for a rental but lincoln couldn't back me with that. I guess making luxury car's for so many years has not left them with much profit seeing as how in a life or death situation brought on by their mistake they leave their customers to chance it because it cost to much for rentals to ensure their customers are kept safe until their car is serviced and safe to drive. They have no compassion for people is how i am feeling about this whole situation. Only covering themselves legally in the cheapest fix possible to avoid legal issues. Guess lincoln owners are just numbers and dollar signs and not mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, aunt or uncles or grandparents that are loved and would be missed severely in the event of their death by a recalled air bag.
Continious soft brake pedal , with failure of brakes a couple of times nearly causing wreck. Auto inspected by Reineke Ford Findlay, Oh. Needs replacement of ABS brake module - hydrolic and electrical. No warning lights ever. Ford needs to extend the ABS module recall to include additional years, one of those being my 2014 MKX. To add to problem, even if I could afford to fix $2,000.00 repair......parts are on backorder........hence defining what a problem this is! This has been going on since April 2024.
