I purchased a used vehicle and had an open safety recall for the rear tow link replacement do to the fact that it could lose steering control and crash if not replaced so i scheduled an appointment with my local dealership to have them replaced i took it in on a friday they called me to come pick it up asked me to return the following friday for an alignment so i did after the following friday's alignment my steering wheel was sideways when it was going forward it was a bad alignment so i call them back up and explain the situation and that they needed to fix it to which they called back and left a message saying that it was not part of the recall and that i would have to pay for it out of pocket which is completely incorrect as i have also confirmed with another dealership that it is part of the recall after discussing that with them they took it back in they said they'd look at it according to the paperwork they gave me when i picked it up yet again it said that he had clocked in for 2 minutes so i obviously was concerned with the alignment so i called another dealership and asked if i could take it into them. Long story shorts the safety recall had never been performed at all!
The car had a recall, and they worked on it. A few years later the power steering went out while driving and almost had an accident. They did not replace the steering gear they only worked on the steering module. If they had replaced the steering gear, it may have solved the whole problem. They know there was a problem and did not do their best to solve it. There may be thousands of vehicles waiting for the time when there could be a serious accident due to ford's negligence. I was moving slow when the steering quit and may have saved my life or others in over vehicles. I was told it is over $4,000 to repair. I cannot afford the repair. I am without a vehicle to drive. I need it for doctors' appointments.
While traveling out of state, the latch on the passenger’s side door would not latch. Doing a quick google search, we found that in 2015 and 2020a recall was issued for a broken pawl spring tab. We did not own the car in 2015 and never received a notice for 2020. Since the door was unable to latch, i had to physically hold door while my husband drove down the interstate. We contacted our local lincoln dealership and scheduled an appointment to be inspected. We were advised that we would have to pay for the repairs and to contact ford. Ford was contacted and advised that the extended warranty had expired and they were not responsible. We never received a recall notice. We have appt october 8 with lincoln dealership to be repaired since you’re unable to drive car without door flying open.
The recall work was done on 10/27/2015. Ford lincoln knows there is a problem with the power steering. They will not redo the work that needs to be done properly because of their faulty power steering module. They did not replace the module; they only made an adjustment to it. I almost had an accident because of the faulty power steering. When it went out it is almost impossible to turn the steering wheel. This problem could have created a serious accident with another vehicle, property or even a pedestrian. Anyone owning one of these vehicles could have the same serious problem. I am on limited income and cannot afford to have the problem repaired. I should not have to pay for the repair since ford lincoln knows it is a problem. What happened to me was when i was making a turn around a corner the power steering when out and i almost hit a car. I struggled to get it into a parking lot. The driver of the other car followed me in to curse me out. I told him what happened. He got in and checked it and saw it was not working properly. He was nice to offer to drive it to my home a short distance away. His wife followed us in his car. He was strong enough to turn the wheel. He told me to never drive it again that it was dangerous to drive. Ford should correct the problem since it is dangerous when it suddenly goes out.

On [xxx] the drivers side keyless entry fell off our vehicle while traveling on the ohio turnpike. The wiring harness held the trim component from falling off the vehicle, but caused it to fling and smash into the vehicle until we pulled off the turnpike. We duct taped the part in place until we could get the vehicle to our local lincoln dealer. I noticed that the part had no clips to hold it into place, just double sided sticky tape that had only adhered to about 1/3 of the frame. On inspection, we noticed that the passenger side trim was also loose. I was told by lincoln that at 53,000 miles this was a trim part and not considered an electrical component. We purchased a new component (part # be9z7420555ba) and had the dealership (signature ford of owosso, mi) install the part. Now on [xxx] we heard a rattle coming from the drivers door. On inspection, the new part has almost came off again as well as the passenger side trim. We checked for a recall and found that the ford edge (the same basic vehicle with a ford logo) has a recall on this same component. Can you be of any help in this matter. I applied my hazards when pulling over and once it was safe to resume, i went to turn off my hazards and they would not turn off. I tried shutting off the vehicle and restarting but nothing was clearing it. The button was not stuck either. After about 20 mins of driving with the hazards, i tried the button again and the hazards shut off. I believe there is an issue with the front control panel.
