When driving down interstate five in san diego, my vehicle decided that it wanted to come to a screeching halt suddenly as the forward collision system activated randomly, causing my neck to jolt and a distill in pain. I had no idea what was going on, but in order to try to get out of the way of traffic, i quickly tried to override what the system was doing after coming to a complete stop, then the accelerator stuck getting the vehicle going over 100 mph. The hybrid system only shut down the gas engine, but the electric was still propelling the vehicle to go forward. I had to hit the button to turn the vehicle to gas only and shift into neutral in order for the vehicle to finally stop getting below 100 miles per hour to where i could safely pull over to the side of the road. I called jeep and they laughed.
2018 jeep grand cherokee limited 3. 6 l v6 engines have a high rate of having head gasket problems around 100,000 miles causing vehicle to overheat and leak liquid into the cylinders damaging the engine. High beams only working when physically holding the handle down. Automatic high beams not working at all and won’t come on unless you turn off automatic high beams. We took it into flow jeep in charlottesville today where they told us they had heard about this issue from others, but that dodge jeep had not found fix and continue to claim it works as it’s supposed to. That cannot be when you cannot get the high beams to come on without physically holding the paddle. They cut the automatic highbeams on, which now means i cannot get my highbeams to come on at all unless i physically hold the handle down. You cannot drive holding that down the entire time. The car is now not sensing when it’s evening time and changing the interior lighting, so it’s not as bright. I have to go in and physically change that. We live in the country. This is a huge safety risk. We need jeep to fix this.
My passenger seatbelt does not retract as it should.

The jeep has had major issues with the fuel system. The first reported issue is during the fill the filler would click like it was full when it was in the beginning stages of the fill. It ended up soaking me with gasoline and shutting down a gas station for spill. I filed a complaint with the nhtsa and the vermont attorney general because the dealerships were not fixing the problem. The fuel tank was finally repaired when the attorney general got involved. 2024 the jeep is again having issues with the fuel system. When the tank is filled to capacity it creates gasoline fumes so strong that it infiltrates the cabin and can be detected from the parking lot. It is really scary to keep having issues with the fuel system. I am shocked after reading on the internet so many jeep owners with fuel system issues that the vehicles are not on recall. I want to report this because it is a safety issue.
On [xxx], i was involved in an accident in maryland while driving my 2017 jeep grand cherokee. It was raining and despite attempting to slow down, brakes performed poorly, causing my car to skid and collide with the vehicle in front of me. Fortunately, no one else was injured, but i sustained a neck injury, and my car was ended up a total loss. During the accident, i noticed the abs warning light had activated. This, combined with prior experiences of delayed brake response, raised concerns about the vehicle’s safety. Having derive. For over 15 years without incidents, this was my first major accident and i suspect it may be linked to a mechanical issue. After learning about recent calls related abs/brake issues in jeep vehicles, i felt it was important to report my experience. I urge you to re-evaluate the safety of the 2017 jeep grand cherokee’s abs and braking systems to prevent similar incidents in the future.
